In a world full of touring musicians, session players, and weekend warriors, Ben Bradley has certainly risen to the top of the Canadian music scene. Not yet 30 years old, Bradley, originally from St. Albert, Alberta, who now lives in the heart of Alberta cattle country – Brooks, Alberta, has quickly become one of Canada’s most sought after drummers for live touring and sessions. Small town values and big city aspirations, ask anyone, Bradley was meant for the stage.
Currently on tour with Warner Music’s country superstar Brett Kissel, (JUNO and Multiple CCMA Award winner), Bradley offers something that few others bring to the stage, according to Kissel.
“Working with so many of the world’s elite musicians, I have not come across anyone quite like Ben Bradley. He brings a special energy to our live show and our recordings, and I’m so blessed to have him onstage with me every night!” – Brett Kissel
The 2015 year was undoubtedly the busiest year in Bradley’s professional career, performing at over 120 shows in Canada and the United States. Touring with Kissel as support for global country superstar Brad Paisley in markets as unique as Anchorage, Alaska, has brought a new perspective to Bradley’s playing, which only adds to his long list of credentials. Performing in front of more than 600,000 people this summer alone as part of Brett Kissel’s summer tour, (which included tour stops at Dauphin’s Country Fest, the Calgary Stampede, the Havelock Country Jamboree, Toronto’s CNE, and Vancouver’s PNE), Bradley’s profile has risen at an unimaginable rate.
Rewind two years, in September of 2013, Bradley was honored by his peers in the Canadian country music scene with his first win for “Drummer of the Year”. At just 27 years old, he was the youngest ever winner for Drummer of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards.
Nobody’s rookie, Bradley has also performed on many television programs for CMT, CBC, CTV, and Global, including multiple performances on the Canadian Country Music Awards live broadcast on CBC, that brings in over 1 million viewers each year for the annual awards program.
Now, Bradley and the Brett Kissel band are gearing up for a true cross Canada tour.
Brett Kissel’s Airwaves 2015 Tour will hit every province and every territory in Canada becoming the first tour of its kind – ever – in the Canadian music scene. Just shy of 50 dates, the Airwaves Tour has already sold out more than 50% of available tickets from Newfoundland to British Columbia, including special stops in Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and the Yukon.
When Bradley is not touring with Kissel across Canada and the United States, his busy freelance career kicks in. You’ll find him onstage with notable stars – Dallas Smith, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, or Gord Bamford to name a few, performing around the world.
High profile tours and high profile session work – Ben Bradley is indeed a one of a kind talent.
